A number of federal prisoners have been released from custody over concerns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest figures from the Bureau of Prisons indicate that since early April 2020 over 250 inmates have been granted compassionate release. Most of these prisoners cited COVID-19 concerns in their filings to the court and many arguments made by federal defense attorneys across the country have been effective. Parmer Law has been tracking these achievements and is available to file and argue motions for federal inmates who may qualify for this relief.
